It’s karaoke night at Lakewood Villa

Lakewood Villa’s karaoke night keeps residents active and engaged

Residents at Lakewood Villa have a full schedule of social activities. One of the most popular is Karaoke Night, where residents grab a microphone and sing Love Me Tender, Tennessee Waltz and Moon River, among other hits.

It’s a blast. Everyone loves karaoke night. We’re not sure why. The singing is not great but let’s face it, this is not American Idol. Good karaoke is very tough to find. Karaoke exists more to entertain than to find undiscovered talent. It is an activity that helps keep Lakewood Villa’s senior citizens active and engaged. Doctors report that seniors enjoy better health if they are active. Their minds remain sharper. They are more able to remember names and pleasant experiences. They are more able to talk to you when you visit.

Being active and engaged includes singing, socializing with friends and visiting places. When you’re looking at your mom’s daily schedule, ask if she has enough contact with people of her age. Ask if she has something to look forward to, which keeps her active and engaged. These would all be YESes if she lived at Lakewood Villa. Call (916) 682-2867 today.  Content is from
