There are several  assisted living homes in Sacramento. What type is right for mom?

Your family and your loved one need to find out what type of assisted living home is right. Some folks actually like the bigger communities that have hundreds of people. They can run a social night every week.

Some folks like an assisted living home where they know everybody by their first name. They want mom to feel like she’s at home as much as possible. That’s when the smaller assisted living homes become appealing. It is personal preference.

Lakewood Villa is a premier residential care facility offering senior care and assisted living in Sacramento, California . Gerard Hojilla is the Administrator.

Best of both worlds

Lakewood Villa has the best of both worlds. With 18 beds, we are a mid-size assisted living home. Our home is big enough to employ sufficient staffing for 24-hour care. We are big enough to have structured activities that help residents remain engaged. Yet, we are small enough to create a homey atmosphere. You will be on a first-name basis with everyone, including the owner and administrator.

An 18-bed facility is a good balance between feeling like it’s a big, well-organized, well-run kind of facility and the smaller homey type of environment. Some of our residents came from the larger institutions. They say they were tired of elevators and getting lost in the crowd. Lakewood Villa is a welcome relief.

Our capacity is 18 residents. We have 11 resident rooms. Four are private rooms and the rest are shared rooms, meaning two residents in a room. We have karaoke nights and holiday parties. We have indoor and outdoor gathering areas. We also have a state of the art security system and alarm monitoring.
